Onion Burger Tour | First Stop Robert's Grill

A few weeks ago I had an idea to do an Onion Burger tour with some of Oklahoma’s favorite onion burger joints. I found an excellent list from the folks over at Gastro Obscura as the a starting point.. I’ve received some excellent recommendations for some places to add to the list.

We made our first stop Robert’s Grill in El Reno ( the birthplace of the Onion Burger). It’s been an institution in the area with its classic style of onion burger. The onions are nice and well done and in a healthy dose. They come with nothing but fried onions, meat and cheese or no cheese. The fries weren’t the best (to be fair we got the food to go and enjoyed it at a nearby park), but the burger alone is worth the drive.
